Built on Direct Relationships, Not Spot Trading.
Most cocoa powder changes hands two or three times between the Sulawesi and Sumatra farms where it's grown and the manufacturer that finally uses it. Each handoff adds cost, and takes away a little more traceability. Cocoa Merchant was set up to cut that chain down to one link: us.
In practice that means we know the growers by name, we run the fermentation, drying, and milling ourselves, and every batch is lab-tested before it's packed — so the spec sheet we send you is the spec sheet you actually receive, shipment after shipment.
We built the company around a simple idea: a manufacturer's production line shouldn't have to absorb the variability that comes from an anonymous supply chain. That means fixed specifications, consistent moisture and fineness, and documentation that actually matches what's in the container — not approximate figures updated only when someone asks.
It also means we're reachable. When a buyer needs a sample re-tested, a certificate reissued, or a question answered before a shipment leaves port, they're talking to the same team that ran the batch — not a broker relaying messages between two parties who have never spoken. That's the relationship we're set up to offer, container after container.
